On July 2, 1971, by order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic No. 751, the Shymkent Automobile and Mechanical Technical School was opened in Shymkent.

For the first time, work was carried out to train specialists in the specialties 1617″ maintenance and repair of motor transport “and 1601″ Technical operation of cars”. For 43 years, the name of the college has changed many times:

* Order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 312 dated December 11, 1995

Shymkent Auto-mechanical technical school renamed to South Kazakhstan Auto-mechanical College;

* By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 814 of May 08, 1995 and the decision of the Akim of South Kazakhstan Region No. 14 of 18.06.1997, the South Kazakhstan Automobile and Mechanical College was renamed the Shymkent Agricultural and Technical College;

* By the decree of the Akim of South Kazakhstan Region No. 120 of March 14, 2003, the automotive complex of the Shymkent Agricultural and Technical College-the Shymkent College of Transport, Communications and New Technologies-was allocated;

* By the decree of the Akim of South Kazakhstan Region No. 173 dated June 16, 2016, it was renamed the ” Road Transport College» •

If in the first years of work, specialists were trained in the specialties 1617 – “maintenance and repair of motor transport”, 1601 – “Technical operation of cars”, today the road transport college trains specialists in seven specialties:

* 1201000 – ” maintenance, repair and operation of road transport»;

* 1203000 – ” organization of transportation and management in railway transport • (by industry);

* 1202000- “organization of transportation and traffic management in transport” (by industry);

* 1410000 – ” construction of highways and airfields»;

* 1303000- ” automation, telemechanics and traffic management in railway transport»;

* 1402000- “Technical operation of road construction machines” (by type);

* 1206000 – “traffic management”.

And the future, and the support of an independent country, and the youth of the twenty-first century should be professionals, armed with comprehensive professional knowledge, able to withstand any competition that will find a way out of trouble. The education of such persons imposes great responsibilities on the employee

The college has all the conditions for productive work and participation of teachers and students in cultural life. In order to improve the quality of knowledge of college students, the college operates clubs: “Zhas technician”, “Zhas zhol”, “Zhas diagnostician”, “Zhas mechanic”, “Zhas signalist”, “Zhas electro-mechanic”, “Zhas dispatcher”, “Zhas physicist”, “Zhas chemist”,”Zhas mathematician”, “English club”, “world of poetry”, “cultural heritage”, “skillful hands”. In addition, sports sections (volleyball, basketball, togyz kumalak, chess, checkers), including a robotics club, are held in order to provide students with an in-depth study of new technologies and areas of informatization and in the field of robotics.

At a meeting of the National Council of Public Trust, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev focused on the educational role of the traditional library in the electronic era, noting the importance of making updates and additions to the library’s book collection. In this regard, in order to revive the library of the college, a stand was created with fiction made using a two-dimensional barcode, providing information for quick access.
